Bad day & Ice Cream

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday.
I started feeling bad while I was in the exam room waiting for the doctor to come in. I thought to myself, how horrible would it be if I just fainted on this table. I would certainly hurt myself and with the lovely hospital smock on, everyone would surely see my blue granny panties.
*Note to self...always, always wear white undies. No matter what the situation.*
I was getting dizzy and my ears were ringing. Nausea just came in waves. My heart was racing. Oh, my gosh. I cannot do this now.
Well, thankfully I didn't. The doctor came and went. I was fine. I still felt bad but I didn't faint. I didn't fall off the exam table and no one saw my blue granny panties. I was totally going to be fine.
And then...
I went to check out and schedule some tests. My Mom, chairs and my walker were just on the other side of the door. "Just hang on", I told myself. I was going to be able to sit down in just second.
I know I made it to the receptionist's desk.
I know I gave her my paperwork.
Next, I opened my eyes and I was on the floor with 8 faces staring down at me.
Between steps 2 & 3...it's a little fuzzy.

My purse was strewn across the floor and I only had on one shoe.
Yeah, I have seen better days.
Everyone was so nice.  One of the doctors even fed me ice chips, while my doctor elevated my legs to get the blood back to my heart and brain. So nice. Everyone was so sweet. I was so embarrassed but they were so kind. I have a love/hate relationship with doctors.
This group restored my faith in doctors and their nurses. Honestly.

So, I am in bed. Where else? Holly and I are watching Brothers & Sisters on Netflix and I am hoping that tomorrow will be better.

But just in case it isn't, I treated myself to a cup of chocolate ice cream and some crumbled Reese Cups for extra measure.

Happy Posts are nice.

Look at what I finally created! :) I am super excited! I think it may be okay to say that I quite possibly am addicted to digital scrapbooking and Photoshop! This was fun. I wanted you guys to see my creation. I have been watching tutorials at Shabby Princess and this post was very helpful! I found a couple of digital kits that were on sale (only $2.00!) at The Digichick. Perhaps, I am not as technically challenged as I thought!

Did you all have nice weekends? I hope so. I am happy to report that I haven't fainted since last Saturday! Yay! I am still spending all of my time in bed but now when I do get up, I am not fainting! I am so excited! Thank you to everyone who has been praying for me! It really does mean so much!

Have a great day!

Weekend Review. The Ups and the Downs. (But I like to focus on the Ups!)

Friday was my Mom's birthday. We had a really nice evening together. First we had dinner from Outback. (My Dad brought it home to eat so that I would have enough energy to go to the movies later.) By the way, Outback is a great meal to eat at home. it travels well and you save a little money because you don't buy drinks, tip, etc.

Then we all went to see The Blind Side. If you haven't seen the trailer for it, click here, to see it on Youtube. It is a wonderful movie; funny, heartwarming and clean! :) Very family friendly. It was just fantastic! Anyone would love it! I recommend that you go see it.  And if you are in the South, I can pretty much guarantee that your football coach (either current or former) will make an appearance. The audience stood and clapped at the end of the movie...that is how good it was! Okay, enough Blind Side plugging!

Celebrating my Mom's birthday was defintely the "up" of my weekend. We got home and settled down. My sister had to work this weekend at the hospital. So, she got into bed and then my Mom and Aunt (who lives with us) decided to decorate my aunt's Christmas tree in her bedroom. I was sitting in the chair talking to them and the next thing I know, Mom and Ginger are on either side of my talking to me and Mom is taking my blood pressure. Ugh! I had fainted sitting in the chair! How terrific is that?!
So this weekend has been pretty bad. I fainted again last night. I have been having trouble remembering a few seconds leading up to the fainting episodes, so I don't really remember "knowing" that I was about to faint but apparently I did because I was able to get down on the floor before I fainted. So that was good.
I have been puzzled over the last few weeks as to why I have been fainting so much on the weekends?? I really didn't understand. What was going on from Friday to Sunday that was different? Then it hit me last night. Everyone is home on the weekend and with five people living here, our home stays pretty "busy" during that time. I finally figured out that I am up more -by up, I mean propped up on the couch or in a chair-and my body gets overly stimulated by conversation, the television, trying to eat with my family, etc. So now I know why my fainting seems to pick up on the weekends. A small mystery solved.
I have felt really bad today. A lot of nausea and headaches. I have been in the bed today listening to my iPod. (God bless the Apple company for that invention! I don't know what I would do without it!) But, even though I have had bad couple of days, I enjoyed spending a great night with my family on Friday.

My Mom and I are leaving Saturday and heading to Reston, Virginia (outside of Washington DC) to see my specialist. My uncle (my mom's brother) is coming with us to help drive and keep us company. I love Steve! He is more like a brother to me than an uncle and he has gone with us to the doctor several times before. He can get off work a little bit easier than my Dad and it works out really well. I thank you all for your prayers on the upcoming trip. I thank you all for your love and support during this time.

Rough weekend.

Hello friends. I hope that you all had pleasant weekend.

As I am sure you gathered from my post's title, my weekend was a little rough. Beginning Friday night, I fainted 4 times over the weekend and two of the times was while I was laying down in my bed...not good, really, really not good.

I know that bad times come with this illness but no matter how much I "know" they are coming, I am never prepared for the bad time's "arrival". I am constantly reminding myself that this is just bad time and that it too will pass because the bad times always do but in the meantime, I have to wait. And while I am waiting, life is going on. Oh, I am so frustrated.

Another thing is that I feel very distant and far away from God. I don't feel Him. I read once that it is much easier to say when we know God is nearby and it is much tougher to acknowledge when you feel alone. I admit it. Right now, I feel alone. I feel forsaken. I feel like God has turned is back and is busy helping others and has forgotten me. God! Don't forget me! Come back and feel my heart with You! I can't feel You. I can't hear You.

i feel alone. i feel like there is an anchor pulling me away from God and I can't get back to Him. i want to find Him again. i am struggling against a current and i want God to rescue me.

It is for certain, we are going to Washington, DC to see my doctor. My appointment in on November 30. I dread the trip with everything in me. I know how physically difficult the trip will be and after all the effort, I don't know if my appointment will be helpful. Frustration! Pure Frustration!

something tells me i am not forgotten. something tells me i am loved.
