Christmas Time is Here

With Christmas all around, I can't help but be reminded of how fast the time has passed. Any holiday-but especially Christmas-has a way of bringing me and the passage of time face to face in a showdown... and time wins each time. I don't want to be sad or cry but I do because it is quite hard. This is such a happy time of year but it is also another year and one more Christmas that is passing and I am still sick.
I will never get the last 10 Christmases (or years) back. They slipped away so quickly. I have missed out on so much and it hurts my heart. The hurt has just invaded and I am working hard on letting go. There is so much that I want to do and I don’t know if I will be able to. I have so many dreams that I don’t want to give up on but I don’t know I will ever live out those dreams.
Christmas is indeed a very special time of year. Christmas gives us all the opportunity to be thankful for all that has happened in our lives- both good and bad.

Most importantly, Christmas reminds me to be hopeful for all that I know will come.

Joy in My World.

Merry Christmas!
Here is a little tour around my bedroom all decked out with Christmas decorations. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to decorate myself this year but my Mom did an excellent job, so no complaining here! Here is a glimpse of my room all decorated for the season! I hope you like it! I included this song because I like to play The Nutcraker Suite while I decorate! My favorite two songs from The Nutcracker are this one and the Tea (Chinese Dance).

Upclose of some favorite ornaments.

A shelf by my bed, all dazzled up.

My favorite part...my beautiful Merry Christmas Garland from Anthropologie! I got it on sale after Christmas two years ago. I LOVE it!
(this is not a very good photo.)

The End.
Merry Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you felt very blessed today and that you were all able to hug someone that you love dearly and tell them how much they mean to you.

I have so many things to be thankful for!

The Thomas Thanksgiving
My Mom has hosted all of the family's holidays for nearly 30 years. This year we had Thanksgiving at my Uncle Steve and his wife, Patty's home. She was a wonderful host but hates photos. So, I couldn't get a photo with her. Also, my family doesn't like turkey, so we eat ham on Thanksgiving!

My sister, Haley could not celebrate Thanksgiving with us today. But today was not the first Thanksgiving that my sister has missed. Two years ago, Haley, me and my friend Kristen went to Maryland to have Thanksgiving with my best friend Kim. (She had just moved there from AL and wasn't able to come home for Thanksgiving.) So, while the three of us left to go celebrate Thanksgiving, we had to leave Haley behind in Kim's apartment to study for her nursing finals.

But now, my Hay is a nurse! (And I know she is a GREAT one!) So, she had to work on Thanksgiving this year, too. But this time, she was getting paid! ha!

Mom and I right before we left for Steve & Patty's. I am so thankful for my family. i know everyone says this but I really do have the greatest family!
